– High prices are reflection of tight supplies
– The first and new crop is not in yet, and will come in after the holiday. We have a clear indication of what the prices will be like after the holiday
– Last few years has seen flat prices but with a 15c increase each year. Generally quite a flat market.
– Some of the smaller packers are struggling with finances with tight payment terms so they need to make rash sales sometimes
– Will improved food safety requirements change the momentum of this industry, and how?
– Will a 2-market syndrome emerge?
– If you need cashews delivered Feb/March you are not going to get anything shipped next month because of the holiday season, so keep an eye on your stock.
