As we work towards halving per capita food waste and losses by 2030, the world&#8217;s current progress is inadequate, underscoring the urgency to prioritise responsible consumption and production.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">Globally, approximately a third of all food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted, while<\/span>\u00a0millions of people struggle afford a quality meals every second day<span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 15px;\">. The <\/span><a style=\"font-size: 15px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/food.ec.europa.eu\/safety\/food-waste_en#:~:text=In%20the%20EU%2C%20nearly%2059,and%20households)%20may%20be%20wasted.\">EU is estimated to waste 59 million tonnes of food per year,<\/a><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 15px;\"> suggesting that primary production and manufacturing account for 29% of food waste, retail and distribution account for 7%, while <\/span><a style=\"font-size: 15px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/web\/products-eurostat-news\/-\/ddn-20220925-2\">households generate a whopping 55<\/a><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 15px;\">%!<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-size: 15px;\">Here at Freeworld, we take pride in our low levels of food waste. In the past year, this figure has dropped to below 0.1%! To achieve this, before considering the disposal of goods, we explore options for repurposing.
